Exiles release details of deal for Simone Alidori
Today the Newport Exiles released the financial details of the deals they have made as they prepare for their first season in existence, with the headline being the deal with the Leeds Jaguars for reigning double-Continental Champion, Simone Alidori.
Grand Prix regular Alidori, 32, would have undoubtedly been one of the best riders in the third tier and the deal with the Yorkshire club show just how valuable a commodity he is.
As well as receiving £210,000 for the Italian, the Exiles also receive the twice former-World number two, Ben Tullett, who we already know has been named Exiles captain and get former British Under-21 finalist, Simon Bettts on loan as part of the deal.
Newport Supremo, Steve Moore, will comment both on this and all the other deals at a pre-season news conference later this week.
Those other deals include the capture of Russian reserve, Oksana Chaplinski, who has cost the Exiles £5,000 from Willenhall Wolves and the sale of Nathan Parry to Stowmarket for £65,000.
